The rapper/actor, real name Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, is bringing us a new animated series, “Karma’s World.” The entertainer’s oldest daughter inspired collaboration between 9 Story Media Group (“Blue’s Clues”) and Bridge’s Karma’s World Entertainment to create the new series. She also inspired an interactive educational website created by Bridges, which bears the same name.

“Karma’s World” is a coming of age tale centered around 10-year-old Karma Grant as she finds her voice and uses it to change the world. Karma is an aspiring musical artist, rapper, and songwriter who channels her feelings, energy, and empathy through music. In the debut season of the new series, Karma is just discovering the power her words can have through music, and she’s starting to figure out how to harness that power to change the world.

The series features forty 11-minute episodes scored with original music created and supervised by Bridges in partnership with James Bennett Jr. and produced by Gerald Keys. The original compositions tackle several issues facing young children like self-esteem, discrimination, creativity, expressing emotions, friendship, and more.

“It has been an absolute privilege to work with Chris to bring his vision of Karma to life. Karma is a character who does not yet exist on kids’ TV. She is a powerful, empowering role model who uses her words and music to change her community,” Angela Santomero, Chief Creative Officer for 9 Story Media Group, said about the new series. “Kids who watch ‘Karma’s World’ will be inspired to use creativity as a vehicle for self-expression, and the series furthers 9 Story’s commitment to creating diverse content for children that encourages them to find their voice and follow their dreams.”

Bridges took to social media to share his excitement about the new show and share a first look of the main character.

The superstar entertainer hopes that the new show will resonate with children and push hip hop culture forward and empower young girls.

“I’ve had a lot of accomplishments in my life, but everything that I’ve experienced seems to have led up to this point to where I can leave a legacy for all my daughters,” Bridges said. “‘Karma’s World’ is one of those legacies. I hope this series will show kids that there are many ways to overcome difficult situations. This show is going to move hip hop culture forward and show young girls that they have the power to change the world. This project has been a long time in the making, and I can’t wait to bring ‘Karma’s World’ to the entire world.”

“Karma’s World” will be airing on Netflix under their “Netflix Family” and “Strong Black Lead” banners. Oscar-nominated Brown Bag Films is producing alongside Bridges, Karma’s World Entertainment, 9 Story Media Group, and the Emmy Award-winning Creative Affairs Group. No word yet on a release date, but we are excited!
