Michael B. Jordan has been quite busy lately!
The Black Panther Star is producing a new series Raising Dion, that is coming to Netflix this fall.
The series follows a single mom, Nicole Reese (Alisha Wainwright), as she raises her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young), after the death of her husband Mark (Michael B. Jordan). Reese soon discovers that her 8 year old son Dion has superhero like abilities.
She struggles to balance the day to day life of being a single mom while helping young Dion navigate his new found abilities along with the help of her sister Kat, played by Jazmyn Simon (Ballers) and Mark’s best friend Pat, played by Jason Ritter (Joan of Arcadia).
The series follows Dion as he navigates school, friendships, his magical powers, villains and the pain of losing his father when he needs him the most.
The show is based on the comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Jordan.
Raising Dion is comprised of nine episodes and is set to premiere on Netflix October 4th.
