Jasmine Stewart, who won season 5 of “MasterChef Junior,” is already on her way to being a well-respected name in the culinary space. At just 13 years old, she has been tapped to redesign the kid’s menu at Great Wolf Lodge Resorts, reports Black Enterprise.

Stewart was selected among a handful of other young chefs, who are all part of Great Wolf Lodge’s Junior Chef Council. The council will meet this month to discuss menu ideas ahead of its scheduled launch in September.

“We all have been asked to come up with two dishes—one dish that kids could recognize might be chicken nuggets or mac and cheese,” says Stewart, while explaining that she and her peers will also create dishes that encourage kids to try new foods.

The young teen credits her parents with helping her learn how to cook and says on her website that she developed a love for the craft when she was just three years old.

“I learned through my parents,” she says. “They both have unique and different palates. My dad is from Jamaica and my mom is from Virginia. I asked them if they could teach me the basics. I started making eggs and moved onto pancakes and cupcakes. Then, I ended up getting into (cooking) as a hobby. The more you practice, the more you learn.”

Stewarts tells AJC that in addition to cooking, she travels throughout the United States and Jamaica for speaking engagements where she empowers young girls through food and with her hashtag #letyourinnergirlslay.

Right now, she has a new six-episode cooking series called “Jasmine’s Delightful Desserts,” which airs on the online platform Bluprint. She says her ultimate goal is to one day be on television with her own cooking show like Bobby Flay.
