U.S. Open Champion Sloane Stephens just became a college graduate!
Today, the 24-year-old graduated from Indiana East University with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies. The university has a partnership with the Women’s Tennis Association, which provides its members with baccalaureate online degree completion programs. Tennis great, Venus Williams completed the same program in 2015 when she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
For Sloane, the academic achievement comes only a few months after her incredible comeback where she won her first Grand Slam title and moved up over 900 spots to world No. 17 (she is now world No. 13). Sloane took to social media to share a graduation photo along with a caption that read: “Indiana University East Class of 2017. Made my grandparents proud this morning!”
