If anybody deserves to be the Women’ Tennis Association’s (WTA) Comeback Player of the Year, it’s Sloane Stephens.

The 24-year-old won her first Grand Slam title last month at the U.S. Open after an 11-month foot injury lay-off that left her ranked as 957th in the world. However, after only six weeks back on tour, Stephens fought her way back to the top 100. She went into the U.S. Open ranked No. 83 and came out as the top 20 player after playing only five events.

Now, Stephens is closing out her amazing comeback season by competing in the WTA Elite Trophy event in Zhuhai, China.

“I’m excited to be coming to Zhuhai,” Stephens said. “Qualifying for an elite year-end event is a great reward at the end of what has been an incredible year for me.”

Congratulations, Sloane! Thank you for being an inspiration to us all, especially to young girls who look like you.
