Tabitha Brown recently shared an emotional reaction to her book hitting No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller list, Blavity reports.
The vegan influencer’s new book Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business): Finding Our Way to Joy, Love, and Freedom recently hit No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller list for “Advice, How-To, and Miscellaneous” books. The book is Brown’s first, and she decided to take to social media to thank God and her fans for bringing her this far.
“You know how sometimes you do stuff – you do it with no expectation, then God just blows your mind? Honey, that’s the moment I’m in,” she said while speaking through tears.
“I’m still kind of in a moment of shock, and I was kind of like, ‘Oh my God, what does that mean?’ I don’t even know what to say,” Brown continued.
She then thanked all of her supporters, laughing as she told fans she needed to get off the phone to call her father.
“I’m so thankful. I can’t even believe my life right now, y’all. I just can’t even believe it. It’s just a long time coming and also, a lot of new things I thought I would never do. I’m just so grateful. I got to call my daddy,” Brown said.
Brown tells her story of switching to a plant-based diet in the new book after suffering from chronic autoimmune pain for years. She uses her own personal experience to teach others lessons that helped her get where she is now in life. The book features “personal stories and inspirational quotes,” along with easy-to-make vegan recipes. Many of the chapters feature Brown’s clever sayings like “hey there” and “because that’s my business.”
“I’m 42, I wrote my first book, and it’s a New York Times Best Seller, and it’s number one. There’s nothing that we can’t do, honey if we just do it and we believe it, and we have faith in it, and God will do the rest. If he put it in our heart and in our mind, then we’re supposed to do something with it. So whatever your dream is, honey, if you think it’s too big, dream a little bit bigger because there’s more out there waiting for you,” Brown told her supporters.
