For the last five years we’ve traveled the country, engaging thousands of children, visiting elementary schools and educating kids on trailblazers known and unknown. We realized that Black history was only being taught in February, if at all, and when it was, the subjects were the same cast of historical figures. After receiving requests from educators and parents for innovative tools and seeing young people expand their aspirations after exposing them to a broader range of history makers, it was clear that we needed to create something that would engage children on a larger scale with consistent content curated just for them. Enter the BOTWC Box.

One of my favorite Christmases. We gave no electronics this year, but the kids were *thrilled* with their gifts. Felix loved his #botwcbox and told Mimi, "I got a letter from Martin Luther King Jr's daughter!" and wore his medal all day. Fletcher is decked out in #denverbroncos gear and Macy is ready to bake up a storm.

The Because of Them We Can (BOTWC) Box is the first Black history and excellence subscription box for kids. Each month kids can use the contents of the box to learn about trailblazers, organizations or movements that paved the way!
Each box includes Because of Them We Can ® branded apparel items, educational activities and props, and other covet worthy products that will help children learn about history makers past and present.
First you’ll pick the plan that works best for you. Plans are available in 12, 6, 3 and 1 month increments. Next, you tell us the name, age and size of the box recipient. Finally, we ship the box to you on or before the 25th of the month and deliver tons of smiles to the lucky child!
Each box was created with 5 - 12 year old children in mind. Feel free to get one for yourself, but if you do, please make sure to share something from each box with a young person. Please note, child size apparel items are included in each box.
We suggest ordering one per child as the box is designed for each child to complete individual activities and receive apparel items.
Each box will ship by the 25th of the month, with an exception for the inaugural box, which will arrive just in time for Kwanzaa/Christmas! (if you join the program after the 15th your first box ships next month)
You will be billed on the 1st of the month according to the subscription you purchased (monthly, every three months, every six months or yearly). The payment for your first box will happen at the time of your initial purchase. Subscriptions will automatically renew until you cancel/pause your subscription.
Yes! And you'll be thanked graciously for it!
Yes, when you subscribe you will be prompted to create an account. You will receive an email to manage your subscription. Once you login with the account credentials you created at the time of purchase, you can pause or cancel your subscription at any time.
Orders will ship every month between the 20th - 25th. (if you join the program after the 15th your first box ships next month)
Yes, with an additional $25 added for shipping costs.
