Stacey Abrams, the nation's first Black woman to win a major party's nomination for governor, reportedly met with top Senate Democrats in Washington, D.C. this week to discuss a potential 2020 bid for one of Georgia's seats in Senate.

Proven to be unbought and unbossed during her historic campaign, it made perfect sense for Abrams to stop by and visit her friend, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley's, office. As the first Black woman to represent Massachusetts in Congress, Pressley now has the same office that Shirley Chisholm once occupied as the nation's first Black Congresswoman.

Abrams shared the "Because of Shirley, We Can" moment on Instagram with a caption reading:

"My friend Representative @ayannapressley has been a changemaker long before she was elected to serve in the halls of Congress. And as a freshman, she is already speaking out against the gross injustices currently being wrought on our nation. Today I was able to sit with her - in the office that once belonged to Shirley Chisholm - and hear about her plans to chart a new path forward for our country."

Abrams is giving herself until March to decide if she'll make a run for Senate. Until then, let's bask in the rich history and Black girl magic that is beaming from this photo.
