Helping others is built into the very mission!

A Black woman-owned beauty brand is helping fight against human trafficking, Black Enterprise reports.

Kristy Alexander is the founder of Apple Rose Beauty, a vegan, cruelty-free skincare line tailored towards Black women and suitable for those with sensitive skin. Alexander graduated from North Carolina Central University with a bachelor’s degree in physics, later earning her master’s in management science and industrial engineering from North Carolina State. She got the idea to start her skincare line after doing extensive research to aid her and her friend’s oily and dry skin issues, creating a variety of natural formulas.

While traveling the globe, looking to source ingredients for the products, Alexander visited Thailand and met two human trafficking survivors. Their stories impacted her so much that she named her company after them and built a brand to help other survivors. Not only does the company support organizations doing the work against human trafficking, but they also employ trafficking survivors. They pay them a sustainable living wage and support them in their journey to becoming self-reliant after they are rescued.

“[The company is] named after two victims of human trafficking. Our company has a big heart with a mission to employ human trafficking survivors and support organizations involved in their rescue and rehabilitation,” Alexander told reporters.

The company has grown significantly, and Alexander is based in Atlanta, often offering beauty tips and tricks via social media and having the products featured on Macys.com. Currently, she’s offering fun holiday gift boxes full of skin goodies like coconut and sunflower shower gel, avocado and kukui body butter, and green tea and plant stem cell eye gel.

“Our products visibly alleviate tough skin issues such as oily skin, dry skin, acne, acne scars, and signs of aging. Our unique formulations are crafted with the most potent, pure, and premium natural, wildcrafted, and certified organic ingredients sourced from around the globe,” Alexander said.

Every purchase of Apple Rose Beauty products helps to end human trafficking. Alexander plans to continue her mission of supporting survivors by using her platform to cultivate a more beautiful world from the inside out.

“We are more than just a skincare company. We challenge and inspire world changers. We support, we speak life, we build-up, we restore, and we celebrate and encourage the beauty in ourselves and others that is more than skin deep,” she said.
