From his commitment to the Chicago Public School system, we already know that Chance the Rapper loves the kids, but now he’s gearing up to show some love to the parents and the educators with an award ceremony held in their honor.
The 24-year-old Grammy-winning musician announced the news on Friday at his first Social Works summit, where he also revealed that he’ll be directly donating $2.2 million to 20 Chicago Public Schools. The educated-themed show, called the Twilight Awards, will be hosted by James Corden and will recognize “teachers, parents, principals, and students that convey leadership”, Chance said. It is set to take place in Chicago in June 2018.

“Every contribution … brings this city and this nation closer to providing a well-rounded quality education for each and every child,” Chance during the event. “Funding quality education for public (school) students is the most important investment a community can make.”
