Just in time for Thanksgiving!
Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are returning for the “Good Burger” sequel. In the new trailer, Dexter (Kenan Thompson) and Ed (Kel Mitchell) find out that Mega Corp wants to put Mega Good Burgers in cities all over the world, staffed entirely by robots. So, they set out to stop it.
The film was announced in March 2023 and will premiere on Paramount+ on Nov. 22. The cast includes Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler and Emily Hinkler as Cindy and Mindy, and Anabel Graetz as Ruth. The film will also feature original “Good Burger” cast members Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra.
“I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!” Thompson said in a previous statement. “Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud, and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal! Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”
The official logline of the film reads, “Dexter Reed (Thompson) is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed (Mitchell) welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back. With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.”
“Good Burger” began as a sketch on the Nickelodeon series “All That,” in which Mitchell starred as Ed. The 1997 film of the same name was a spin-off from that and was considered to be a box office success after grossing just under $24 million against a reported budget of $8 million. It is now considered a cult favorite, which is why it’s returning with a sequel this month.
“Good Burger 2” is set to release on Paramount + this November 22nd!
