A royal baby!
HRH Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle just announced that she is expecting her second child, The Grio reports.
This past November, Markle revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage last summer that left her devastated, retelling her experience in an essay for the New York Times entitled “The Losses We Share.”
“I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second. Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few,” Markle wrote.
She and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals of the British Royal Family nearly a year ago to create financial independence and forge a new path free from the press and pressure. HRH Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry are parents to 19-month-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, born May 6, 2019. As the two grieved their unexpected loss, they pressed forward and are now elated to announce the coming of a new royal heir.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” a spokesperson for the couple said.
Longtime photographer of the royal couple, Misan Harriman, shared a black and white picture of the Duke and Duchess, saying, “Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!”
