After a 94-87 loss to Iowa in this year’s NCAA tournament, Reese announced that she would declare for the WNBA draft

“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college. I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be pro and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready,” Reese told Vogue.

As the 2024 WNBA Draft approached, anticipation mounted regarding where Reese would land. Speculation ran rampant among fans and analysts, with many projecting her as a top pick. When the moment finally arrived, Reese’s name echoed throughout the arena as she was selected in the 7th round for the Chicago Sky, joining South Carolina Gamecocks player Kamilla Cardoso, who was the Chicago Sky’s third-round pick.
