This is hilariously epic!

For the first time in its 20+ year history, popular reality TV show Big Brother has an all-Black final 6, Screen Rant reports.

Season 23 of Big Brother, dubbed BB23, is well underway and fans cannot get enough. Viewers have long complained that Big Brother needed major cast changes to be more diverse and inclusive and noted the marginalization of minority cast members who previously were excluded from joining strong alliances and targeted within the game. With Black people still largely underrepresented in the reality TV genre space, it looks like Big Brother producers took note, Da’Vonne Rogers becoming the first Black winner of America’s Favorite Houseguest last year. This season, it got even better with a more diverse cast and now for the first time ever, a Black player is slated to win BB23.

Azah Awasum, Derek Frazier, Hannah Chaddha, Kyland Young, Tiffany Mitchell, and Xavier Prather have made history as the first all-Black final 6 cast members in Big Brother history. Dubbing themselves “The Cookout Alliance,” the six stuck together throughout the game with this one goal in mind, understanding the importance of representation on the show and for the reality TV genre in general.

While Live feed fans knew this was the goal of The Cookout, viewers still doubted they’d be able to take it all the way as the competition got heavier. Nonetheless, during the first ever Double Eviction on BB23, Tiffany was given HOH powers, evicting Claire Rehfuss in an effort to stay loyal to the alliance, Hannah then won HOH and sent Alyssa Lopez to the jury house leaving just the members of The Cookout.

Fans of the show were elated, some even remarking that they couldn’t believe it, and then there were six. Now that they’ve made history, the alliance is over and it’s every person for themselves, fans throwing out predictions that they would break up in duos with Hannah and Tiffany sticking together, Kyland and Xavier breaking their BFF bond to get rid of each other first and Azah and Derek F staying close. To viewers’ surprise, Big Brother held another double eviction on the most recent episode, this time giving the axe to Tiffany and Hannah, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Fans are not too happy about it either, waiting all season to see how the Black cast members would strategize at the end only to feel like producers are rushing it all. Now it’s down to the final four and only one of them will take home the title of the first Black Big Brother winner. They will also take home the $750,000 grand prize. It’s a fight to the finish but fans are sure to be entertained as BB23 concludes.

Congratulations to The Cookout and the final four. May the odds be ever in your favor!

Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8pm EST/PST on CBS.
