Venus And Serena Williams: The Dynamic Sister Duo Wins Doubles Match At French Open

The Queens of Tennis are back! 

Only a day after winning her first grand slam match since having her daughter in 2017, Serena Williams has teamed up with her sister Venus to defeat Shuko Miyu Kato and Aoyama 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the first round of doubles at the French Open on Wednesday.

The match marked the first time since the 2016 Wimbledon Championships that the Williams sisters have played in a major tournament together.

Their victorious grand slam doubles return follows being chosen as wild-card entry into the doubles tournament. Serena and Venus were crowned the French Open Women’s Doubles champions in 1999 and 2010, and together, have won 14 grand slam doubles titles. This could be number 15.
