Veteran journalist April Ryan kicked off her week with some pretty great news. It came in the form of a new job at CNN, as the cable news network just hired Ryan as its newest political analyst. Ryan shared the news this morning on her personal Twitter page.

Ryan, who graduated from Morgan State University with her B.S. in Broadcast Journalism, has served as the White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks for more than 20 years. In her incredible broadcasting career, she has conducted one-on-one interviews with multiple U.S. presidents, became a best-selling author, and one of the most successful African American women in journalism.
