A true power pose!
6-year-old Taylor Sims from Bastrop, Louisiana came to her graduation ceremony poised and ready to take on first grade. In a photo shared online by her mother, you can see that Taylor means business, sitting with her legs crossed in her cap, gown, and summer sandals.
Taylor is known to strike a pose, her mom Lexii Sims told TODAY.com, “As soon as you pull out a camera, she’s going to give you a pose.” Her mom also spoke on how Taylor’s been a fighter since birth. Born six weeks early, the hospital staff assessed that Taylor would have to stay in the NICU. However, to Sims surprise, Taylor was a premature baby with determination and was able to go home the next day.
When Taylor grows up, she’s interested in becoming a police officer or a paramedic but for now she’s shining bright in the classroom. Kindergarten teacher Brittany Higginbotham stated, “Taylor is a child who is confident, strong-willed and resilient,” she added, “Taylor has never been afraid to have fun, show her personality or to stand up for what she believes in.”
Congratulations, Taylor. Keep shooting for the stars!
