White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made history in May 2022 when she became the first Black person to serve in the position. The impact of her presence recently took center stage during a sweet moment when a young Black girl was called on to ask a question during a White House press conference. The young girl can be seen asking the press secretary what she enjoyed most about her job, Jean-Pierre called it “one of the best moments I’ve had at the podium…”
