Black men showing up for each other — we love to see it!
In a beautiful moment captured on video, Keith Burgess walked into his barber shop not for a cut, but to hand-deliver flowers to his longtime friend and barber. The gesture wasn’t about a holiday or celebration, but about giving this brother his flowers while he can still smell them.
After walking in the shop with flowers in hand, he shared the reason behind it with those there. “I bought my partna some flowers,” he began. “For one, I love him dearly. He’s a great dude.”
He went on to explain how, during one of the darkest points in his life, battling addiction and bad habits, it was his barber who checked in, encouraged him, and reminded him of his worth. That conversation stayed with him long after he got clean.
So when he saw his friend publicly grieving the loss of his mother, he knew it was time to return that love and support.
It was about brotherhood, gratitude, and reminding each other they matter. A reminder to always give people their flowers while they’re here.
