This is adorable!
A San Diego father has gone viral in a video where he learns how to cornrow his daughter’s hair with the help of his mother.
According to Fox 5 DC, 27-year-old Jamir Grisby had been wanting to learn to braid his daughter’s hair for some time now. Grisby said he really just wanted to be able to help his wife out who primarily takes care of Amirah’s hair. So he enlisted the help of his mother Tonnette.
“I’ve learned how to put her hair in a ponytail, brush and wash it. But braiding is the hardest thing!,” Grisby told reporters.
In the now viral video, Tonnette can be heard coaching her son as she walks him through detangling Amirah’s hair, sectioning the three parts for the cornrow, and then guiding him through looping and finger placement as he tries earnestly to perfect his very first cornrow. While Amirah is having trouble keeping still, her dad is working overtime to make sure he gets it right, with his mother’s encouragement.

The video, posted just a couple days ago, has already garnered more than 70,000 likes and been viewed more than 1 million times. Grisby said he thinks all dads should learn to do their daughter’s hair because it’s a great time to bond with them.
“It should be ok for dads to do their daughter’s hair! We have creativity too,” Grisby said.
