On Tuesday, Victoria White, a volunteer with Others Outreach Missions, decided to use her voice to uplift Hurricane Harvey evacuees taking shelter inside the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center in Conroe, Texas.

As White led a group of singers in a powerful rendition of William McDowell’s “Spirit Break Out”, she had no idea she was being recorded, but according to her “God had a plan”. The video, captured by shelter volunteer Joni Villemez-Comeaux, has since gone viral and accumulated over 16 million views.

“We knew we wanted to be boots on the ground and so we had to figure out somewhere that had space for volunteers and we found out that the shelter here in Conroe did and we came to lend our gifts,” White said. “It was great to be able to interact and meet and encourage everyone who was present.”

While White was completely blown away by the overwhelming response, she made sure to also encourage others to help those in need in any way possible.

“There is SOMEONE in your community, in your state, in the world who needs something you have…..GO SERVE!!! Let this video be a reminder that you can use whatever gifts and resources, big or small, to bless someone else! Go out and be the hands and feet of Jesus; you won’t regret it!,” White wrote in a Facebook post.

White and her partner Marquist Taylor plan to visit more Texas shelters to uplift people through song.

“We plan on spreading the love,” Taylor told ABC news. “There was a lot of loss, but there’s a lot of love to keep giving so we’re going to keep spreading the love all around.”
