When students at Houston’s Worthing High School went to Michelle Obama’s ‘Becoming’ book tour at the city’s Toyota Center on Saturday, they probably never expected to meet the Forever First Lady herself. But that’s exactly what happened.
According to ABC 13, “Ten students at the event were told they were getting their own personal meeting with Obama.” However, they didn’t believe it until the first African American First Lady of the United States came out to give them some words of encouragement.
“When she held my hand, she looked at me in my eye and I felt like I could do so much better things with my life and become a better person,” one student said.

After meeting with the students, Mrs. Obama tweeted to Worthing High School: “So proud of you guys @WorthingColts1—you inspire me! Always remember the power in your stories. I can’t wait to see what you become in the years ahead.”
