Each year, the fund will award twenty-five $10,000 financial aid student scholarships to individuals enrolled in partner cosmetology schools. These schools, carefully selected for their inclusive curriculums, include Beaver Beauty Academy in Atlanta, Trenz Beauty Academy in Chicago, Universal College of Beauty in Los Angeles, Franklin Institute in Houston, and Janas Cosmetology Academy in New Jersey.

The criteria for the 2024 Student Scholarship include current enrollment or acceptance into one of the partner cosmetology schools, a demonstration of financial need due to hardship, completion of the application process, and residence within one of the five focus cities. The timeline for this year’s scholarships began with the opening of applications on February 20, 2024, scheduled closing on March 20, 2024, and recipients being announced on April 20, 2024.

Additionally, the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund introduced the Salon Business Grant, recognizing the challenges of running a salon business. Twenty-five $10,000 grants will be awarded annually to qualifying salon business owners in the aforementioned focus cities, empowering them to continue making an impact in their communities. The criteria for the Salon Business Grant include operation within one of the select markets, demonstration of financial hardship, a minimum of two years as a licensed barber, hairstylist, or cosmetologist, a lease agreement or proof of salon business ownership, and a minimum of one year in business.
