They’re showing what happens when we invest in us!
Fanbase is a Black-owned social media platform built with creators in mind, where anyone can monetize their content from day one. Founded by Isaac Hayes III, son of the legendary soul artist Isaac Hayes, the Atlanta-based startup is working to reshape how we create, share, and profit in the digital space.
Now it’s reaching new heights. The company has raised over $12.7 million in its $17 million equity crowdfunding campaign, inviting everyday people, not just venture capitalists, to own a piece of the platform, according to Hayes. That kind of access is rare in tech and very intentional.
“I think we have a real metric to understand the value of Black culture,” Hayes told AFROTECH. “Black culture is actually our vibranium, our asset. We are so creative, and we shouldn’t just be giving it away for free.”
With each investment, Fanbase is proving that building something for us and by us isn’t just possible, it’s profitable.
