This is the kind of creativity we love to see!

When engineering student Reed Curry needed a way to get to and from school in Florida but didn’t have a car, he built his own solution. Using materials from his local Home Depot, Curry handcrafted an all-electric wooden motorcycle, which he proudly calls the “wooden horse.” Made from cedar 2x4s, the bike has been his daily ride for over a year.

“This bike isn’t a masterpiece, it’s not even my main project—it’s just my daily commute. I’ve been riding on this rig for over a year, it’s still a work in progress, and I didn’t make this with the intention of blowing up,” he shared on Instagram. “When I say “I’m just a guy”, I’m no genius! Anything you see that’s good in me came from God! Please understand this. Thank you for all the support”

Still, his humble invention caught major attention online, inspiring a wave of support. A GoFundMe was even launched to help him buy a new vehicle, though it has since been taken down.

One thing’s for sure: resourcefulness like this deserves to be celebrated!
