Victor Scotti Jr. is turning his mother’s legacy into a place of care.

Earlier this year, Scotti opened The Donna Jean Hair Restoration Clinic in Arlington, Virginia, in honor of his mother, Donna Jean, who spent eight years fighting multiple myeloma.

For Scotti, the work is deeply personal. He watched his mother lose her hair during her illness, and he also watched his father carry the quiet weight of caregiving. That experience shaped the way he built the clinic, holding every decision to one question: would she be proud of this?

The clinic creates custom cranial prostheses, also known as medical wigs, for Black clients across the full gender and sexuality spectrum who are navigating cancer treatment, alopecia, scarring, traction damage, and other forms of hair loss.

Scotti’s work centers the healing scalp first. Each prosthesis is made from raw virgin hair so clients can receive textures that feel like their own, from curly to coily to kinky. Caregivers are also welcome in every appointment, making space for the loved ones who are walking through the healing process too.

According to information shared with BOTWC, Scotti is a Certified Cranial Prosthesis Engineer, a licensed cosmetologist in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, and a TRICARE-authorized provider. He was also recently recognized as the 2026 Face of Sola Studios and named to the national Zoom Solopreneur 50 cohort.

Through The Donna Jean Hair Restoration Clinic, Scotti is helping reimagine what hair restoration can look like when dignity, texture, identity, and care are centered from the beginning. (not sure about this paragraph but yeah)
