LeBron James is headed to the Philadelphia 76ers. NBA.com reports that James announced the move on July 24, confirming that he is signing with Philadelphia as he prepares for his record-extending 24th NBA season.
The Associated Press reports that James called the move his “last decision,” after considering retirement following his 23rd season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer is stepping into a new city, a new fan base, and one more championship push. Reuters reports that James is joining the Sixers for the final chapter of his NBA career, choosing another title run with a franchise still chasing its first championship since 1983.

NBA.com notes that James joins a Philadelphia roster featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and newly acquired Jaylen Brown. In his announcement, James said he believes he can help make the 76ers a championship team and is excited to begin the journey “one last time.”
