These barbers are helping students start the school year fresh!
Elusive Barbershop and Salon in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, recently offered free haircuts for children as families prepared for the new school year, NewsChannel 5 reports.
Back-to-school season can add up fast, from clothes to supplies to everything in between. For families, a free haircut can be one less expense and one more confidence boost before the first day of class.
NewsChannel 5 reports that all six barbers at the shop volunteered their time for the event, giving kids complimentary cuts while parents got a little financial relief.
For owner Anas Kerim, the effort is about more than hair. He told NewsChannel 5 that barbershops have always been more than a place to get a haircut. They can be places where people feel free, supported, and seen.
Manager Rene Castro also said that helping families save even a few dollars can go a long way, especially during the busy back-to-school season.
It is a small act of service with a big impact. One fresh cut, one less worry, and one more reminder that community care still matters.
