Justus Kelley just made Miss USA history.
Kelley, who represented Virginia, was crowned Miss USA 2026 during the pageant’s 75th competition at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, People reports.
Her win marks a major first for the organization. Kelley became the first mother, first married woman, and first woman in her 30s to win the Miss USA title.

The milestone follows the organization’s 2023 rule changes, which allowed married women and mothers to compete for the crown, Yahoo reports.
For Kelley, the moment carried even more meaning. In an interview with People, she shared that she almost backed out of the competition after receiving a foster care placement for two siblings earlier this year.
Instead, she continued forward with the support of her family and made history on the national stage.
“For 75 years, Miss USA has reflected the changing face of American women,” Kelley said during the competition, according to Business Insider.
Now, as Miss USA 2026, Kelley is part of that changing image, showing that motherhood, marriage, and being in your 30s do not mean your dreams have passed you by.
