Ms. Castillo is bringing a little bayou magic to the school year.

The Environmental Science and Pre-IB Biology teacher transformed her classroom into “Ms. Castillo’s Bayou of Learning,” a Princess and the Frog-inspired space designed to welcome students into the new school year with joy and imagination.

In photos shared on Threads, the classroom features bayou-themed decor, cozy green seating, vines, classroom signs, and nods to the beloved Disney story. From the walls to the small details, the room feels like a creative invitation for students to step in and get ready to learn.

“Grab your paddles, be quiet on the creek and get ready because we’re making our way down the bayou this school year,” Castillo wrote.

The theme is especially fitting for a class rooted in Environmental Science and Pre-IB Biology, bringing the natural world into the classroom before the lessons even begin.

For students, spaces like this can make the first days of school feel warmer, more exciting, and more personal. It is a reminder that learning can feel welcoming, creative, and full of wonder.

Year 7 is looking a little froggier and a lot sweeter.
