Now this is a Barbie we love to see.

Serena Williams has officially been honored with a new Barbie Signature doll inspired by her championship run at the 2005 Australian Open, where she captured her seventh major singles title.

Mattel reports that the collectible recreates Williams’ green-and-white championship look, including the cutout top with mesh detailing, white skirt, matching sweatband, socks, and shoes. The doll also comes with a tennis racket, tennis ball, doll stand, and certificate of authenticity.

The release celebrates Williams not only as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, but also for her impact beyond the court.

License Global reports that the doll arrives in recognition of International Day of the Girl and follows the one-of-a-kind Role Model doll Barbie created for Williams earlier this year as part of its global “Dream Team.”

Williams said the representation behind the doll makes the moment especially meaningful.

“Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me being told there was no limit to who they could become,” she said, adding that she hopes young girls who see the doll recognize possibility in themselves.

The launch is also giving back.

License Global reports that Barbie’s Dream Gap Project is making a donation to Mrs. Rina’s House of Blessings, a Martin County, Florida organization that supports children and families facing housing instability. The contribution will help fund programming centered on education, leadership, and creating more opportunities for young people.

The Serena Williams Barbie Signature doll is priced at $45 and became available October 8 through Mattel Creations, Target, and other major retailers.

From dominating the court to now being recreated in Barbie form, Serena’s legacy keeps finding new ways to inspire the next generation.

Serena in Barbie form just feels right.
