A new global stage is being set, and Tems is taking centerfield.

The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter has been announced as a headliner for the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show, a groundbreaking musical event set to unfold on July 13th at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Variety reports. Joining her on the global stage will be fellow international superstars J Balvin and Doja Cat. The historic performance, produced by Global Citizen and curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will be broadcast to millions around the world via DAZN.com.

Tems, whose soulful voice and lyrical depth have taken the world by storm, brings more than music to this moment; she brings a movement. The beloved singer recently joined the San Diego FC ownership group as a club partner ahead of the 2025 season, so her performance at the FIFA Club World Cup couldn’t be more aligned.

“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment,” Tems said. “To celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait … see you at the Club World Cup final.”

This isn’t Tems’ first collaboration with Global Citizen. In 2022, she graced the stage at the Global Citizen Festival: Accra in Ghana, leaving an indelible impression with her performance. Now, she returns on an even larger platform, uniting sport, music, and purpose on one of the world’s biggest stages.

The July 13th halftime show aligns with Global Citizen’s mission to end extreme poverty and support global access to education. The event will spotlight the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, announced earlier this year with a $100 million goal to expand educational access and football opportunities for children worldwide. A portion of every ticket sold for the tournament will directly support the initiative.

The FIFA Club World Cup, newly expanded and hosted in the U.S. for the first time, will bring together the top 32 club teams from around the globe, competing across 12 venues in 11 cities. But the true impact of this tournament will extend far beyond the pitch.

“To end extreme poverty we need to ensure every child gets access to a quality education,” said Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans. “That’s why, together with our partners at FIFA, we’re calling on football fans everywhere to take action. The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund brings together the global energy of football and music to raise $100 million — and give children around the world a real chance at a better future.”

From Lagos to the world stage, Tems continues to break barriers and raise the bar, and this July, she’ll make history once more, proving that when music and mission come together, the result is nothing short of extraordinary.
