He’s adding jazz artists to his resume!
Keith David, the legendary actor known for his unmistakable voice and decades-long career in film and theater, has released his debut jazz single, “Old Devil Moon.” The track is the first from his upcoming studio album, set to arrive this fall, CBS42 reports.
David announced the news on Instagram, writing, “The cat’s out of the bag. My debut jazz single dropped today, and I can’t wait for you to listen. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for sharing this dream with me. I hope you love it!”
While widely recognized for his voice work in The Princess and the Frog and Hazbin Hotel, David’s musical background includes a Tony Award nomination for Jelly’s Last Jam and a leading role in August Wilson’s Seven Guitars. His ability to blend deep emotion with vocal precision has been a hallmark of both his acting and musical performances. In June, shared to Instagram that it’s been a long dream of his to record a jazz album, and now that dream is coming true.
This release marks a new chapter in David’s career, adding jazz recording artist to an already impressive list of accomplishments.
