The ‘90s nostalgia is back in full effect!

In a move that sent waves of joy through living rooms and timelines alike, Erika Alexander and Kim Coles have reunited to give fans exactly what they’ve been craving — more Living Single. This week, the beloved duo behind Maxine Shaw, Attorney-at-Law, and the ever-quirky Synclaire James announced their new project: Re-Living Single, a nostalgic podcast dedicated to the iconic 90s sitcom that helped redefine Black excellence on television, The Grio reports.

“The people always want more,” Coles said during a surprise reveal on The Sherri Shepherd Show. “So Erika and I, and Hartbeat have teamed up to give you more…how about the Reliving Single podcast?”

Launching May 7th, the podcast is being dubbed “the unofficial, official Living Single rewatch podcast.” Produced in collaboration with Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Network and Hartbeat productions, alongside Alexander’s Color Farm Media, the series will feature behind-the-scenes gems, untold stories, and appearances from the show’s original cast.

“We [go into] all the behind-the-scenes-like things that [audiences] never heard before, and also things that we’re revealing to each other that we didn’t know at the time,” Coles shared. “There’s tears, joy, and all the things.”

For Alexander, the podcast is more than just a walk down memory lane.

“This is a really wonderful way to keep it moving with the great Kim Coles, who is a legend not only in comedy,” she said. “[She] was a really great mentor to us all, teaching us how to be not only in our space but also be ourselves through our characters.”

Living Single — which starred Alexander, Coles, Queen Latifah as Khadijah James, Kim Fields as Regine, T.C. Carson as Kyle Barker, and John Henton as Overton Jones — broke new ground when it premiered in 1993. Centered around a tight-knit group of Black professionals living in Brooklyn, it was one of the first to capture the heart and humor of everyday Black life long before its network neighbor Friends would follow suit.

Though Re-Living Single isn’t a reboot (yet), the cast isn’t closing the door on the possibility.

“I would say yes, because we all still look good,” Coles said with a laugh. “And because we all still love each other and there’s still a beautiful chemistry [between us] that will never die.”

Whether you’re tuning in for the laughs, the memories, or the cultural commentary, Re-Living Single promises to be a celebration of the show that reminded a generation they didn’t have to walk alone. As the familiar theme song goes: “I’m glad I got my girls.”
