She’s bringing all her Christmas magic to the literary world!
Mariah Carey is set to release her first children’s book entitled The Christmas Princess: It’s Full of Wonder, Black Enterprise reports.
Carey is the undisputed Queen of Christmas, her 1994 holiday bop “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” continues to chart year after year around the festive season. This year alone, it made history again as the first No.1 song of 2022, passing one billion streams on Spotify. The song was also diamond certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), becoming the first holiday single to ever achieve such a feat.
“Christmastime really is my favorite part of the year,” the pop singer recently told People this past December. She also explained how that joy has transferred to her twin children, Monroe and Moroccan, who also share their moms joy of Christmas and even appeared in her most recent holiday song’s video, ‘Fall in Love at Christmas’.”
Now Carey is taking that magic and bringing it to young readers in her new book that she feels introduces Little Mariah to the world and invites children on a journey of positive belief and a wondrous and enchanted holiday season.
“So many of us have been drowning in “bleakocity” for the last year and a half, why not create an enchanted land to escape to? The Christmas Princess springs from the same need as my memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey – to emancipate the little girl in me,” Carey told reporters.

The children’s book is co-written by Michaela Angela Davis, who also worked with Carey on her memoir, and features illustrations by artist Fuuji Takashi. In her memoir, the iconic singer was transparent about her tumultuous childhood and her rise to the highest heights of celebrity. Carey has said how grateful she is to be able to reach back and encourage other children who may be going through some of the things she endured as a child.
“Little Mariah represents my inner child believing in her own vision, she represents all children, especially those who feel like outsiders or ‘others,’ striving to believe in themselves. It is for all children of all ages. It was empowering to transform my childhood turmoil into a modern classic fairytale full of wonder and boundless hope,” said Carey.
The Christmas Princess: It’s Full of Wonder, is set to be released fall 2022 by Henry Holt Books for Young Readers.
