Add this to the list of things to watch with the family!

A 10-part documentary on basketball icon Michael Jordan and the 1990s Chicago Bulls has finished early and will be released this April, Yahoo Sports reports.

“The Last Dance” is a compilation of archival footage from the Bulls 1997-98 season. The Chicago Bulls, with Jordan at the helm, were one of the most legendary and unstoppable teams and the doc follows them as they go for a sixth title. Jason Hehir, director of the film said, “Michael Jordan and the ‘90s Bulls weren’t just sports superstars, they were a global phenomenon. Making ‘The Last Dance’ was an incredible opportunity to explore the extraordinary impact of one man and one team.”

The documentary was initially set to air this June, coinciding with the start of the 2020 NBA Finals. However, many pushed for an early release date given the current pandemic and the subsequent pause of the NBA and all other major sports. Among those supporters for an early release was NBA phenom, LeBron James.

ESPN issued a statement saying, “We’ve heard the calls from fans asking us to move up the release date for this series, and we’re happy to announce that we’ve been able to accelerate the production schedule to do just that. As society navigates this time without live sports, viewers are still looking to the sports world to escape and enjoy a collective experience.”

The series is expected to air April 19th on ESPN. LeBron tweeted about the new release date saying, “April 19th can’t come fast enough. I CAN NOT WAIT!! Yessir!”
