‘The Bear’ Actress Ayo Edebiri Will Host ‘Saturday Night Live’

Ayo Edebiri is on fire right now!

The actress is currently cleaning up at awards shows like The Emmy and Golden Globes awards, where she won for her portrayal of Sydney Adamu in FX’s “The Bear.” It was also recently announced that she is going to host “Saturday Night Live” on February 3 and will be joined by Jennifer Lopez as her musical guest.

Edebiri posted about the news on Instagram with the caption, “One for the grid bc I still can’t believe it.” The post so far has received more than 240,000 likes and more than 2,600 comments from fellow celebrities and fans alike. Padma Lakshmi wrote, “Congratulations I can’t wait to clap for you.” While a fan wrote, “YESSSSSS THIS ONES FOR IRELAND!!!!”


After accepting her Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, she said, “This is a show about found family and real family, and my parents are here tonight. I’m making them sit kind of far away from me because I’m a bad kid. But I love you so much. Thank you so much for loving me and letting me feel beautiful and Black and proud of all of that. I just love you so much.”

She continued, “It’s probably not, like, a dream to immigrate to this country and have your child be like, ‘I want to do improv!’ but you’re real ones.”
