“Black-ish” star Marsai Martin brings a heavy dose of Black girl magic and joy to the small screen with her talent and brilliant comedic timing. Now, the 13-year-old is set to bring those same two things to the big screen in a new Universal comedy called “Little.”

In addition to coming up with the idea for the script, Martin will also executive produce the project along with Regina Hall and Josh Martin. This will be Martin’s first executive producing credit and her first studio feature.

According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” the film “centers on a woman who gets the chance to relive the carefree life as her younger self (Martin), when the pressures of adulthood become too much.”

“Drumline” writer Tina Gordon Chism, who wrote the latest draft of the comedy, is set to direct. The screenwriter of “Girls Trip” Tracy Oliver wrote the first draft of the screenplay based off Martin’s idea. “Girls Trip” producers Will Packer and James Lopez, as well as “Black-ish creator” Kenya Barris are set to produce.

The possibilities are truly endless when your village supports your vision. Congratulations, Marsai!
