Back in 2017, CEOs of CreativeSoul Photography Regis and Kahran Bethencourt took creativity to the next level with their baroque-inspired portraits celebrating the beauty of natural hair. For more than 20 years, the couple’s goal has been celebrating Black youth using their artistic ideas! Recently, the photographers announced their collaboration with Disney to launch a reimagined doll collection replicating their stunning photos.

The CreativeSoul Doll Collection will feature a Black Tiana, Snow White, Rapunzel and Cinderella. These four dolls will have coils, braids, and afros and will be decked out in Afrocentric fabrics. “Our mission has always been to bring bold inspiring images of people of color to life,” Kahran said in a statement.

The dolls will be released February 3rd at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and online at shopDisney. Regis and Kahran will also be present at Walt Disney World Resort’s EPCOT International Festival of the Arts where you can view the dolls, purchase their gorgeous model prints and have a book or doll signed by the pair. Next month will also kick off Celebrate Soulfully, a DisneyLand event catered to Black heritage and culture.

“We are both excited and proud of this project and hope that through the lens of photography, it will help further empower young girls of color and show they can be a princess too,” Regis said.

This is epic!
