She’s bringing a different lens to the story!

Donald Glover has officially added Malia Obama to the writers’ room for his new Amazon Series, NBC News reports.

The Atlanta creator and star announced his new partnership with Amazon last February, inking an eight-figure overall deal to produce content for the streaming giant. While speaking about a new series in the works about a “Beyonce-like” figure in partnership with playwright Janine Nabers (Watchmen), there were talks that Malia Obama would be joining as a staff writer. Now Glover has confirmed that the eldest Obama daughter is indeed a part of the writers’ room, calling her “an amazingly talented person.”

“She’s really focused, and she’s working really hard. I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon. Her writing style is great,” Glover told reporters.

Glover’s brother and collaborator, Stephen Glover, said it’s important to his Emmy award-winning brother that anything he works on always has varying perspectives and those lenses start in the writers’ room. Stephen said it is the Harvard student’s perspective that has been most beneficial to the project.

“Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers’ room. And for sure, [Malia] definitely has a unique perspective on everything. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas,” Stephen explained.

In addition to the new series, Glover’s Atlanta series recently returned for its third season on FX, with its fourth and last scheduled to air in the fall. The season has already been receiving rave reviews since its airing this past week.
