Students debated two resolutions, the pursuit of “the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump [and whether] Roc Nation, the business affiliated with Jay-Z should not have entered into a contract with the NFL.

Every year the NAACP sponsored event brings out large crowds. Schools bus in their students to cheer on the teams in sports arenas. The debate is the largest collegiate intellectual competition of its kind in the nation.

The Howard University Debate Team competes mainly in a parliamentary debate style which centers around a student’s oratory and analytical capacity.
