Fresh off a Super Bowl win earlier this year, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is picking up and pen and stepping into a new arena: children’s literature.
Hurts just announced his debut picture book, Better Than a Touchdown, in an inspiring video filmed from the library of Tice Elementary School in his hometown of Houston.
“This has been a cherished dream of mine, and I hope it inspires young minds and readers of all ages to believe in themselves and never lose sight of their dreams,” he said in the video posted to Instagram.
Set to release on March 10, 2026, the book follows a young boy named Jalen who dreams of joining his school’s football team. When the team is unexpectedly cut, he and his friends rally together to bring it back. Proving that teamwork, community, and determination are worth more than any score.
Published by Flamingo Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House, and illustrated by Nenka Myers, Better Than a Touchdown is already available for preorder.
Another win for the kids and for the culture.
