Congratulations are in order for Uzo Aduba and her husband, Robert Sweeting.
The duo are celebrating their third wedding anniversary and have a baby on the way. And in honor of their anniversary, Aduba chose to share photos with her filmmaker husband from their traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony back in 2021.
“Our Anniversary. This is from our Traditional Nigerian Wedding Ceremony(Igba Nkwu),” Aduba captioned the Instagram photos. “This day meant so much to us. You have made my entire life better, more full. I am so thankful our souls found each other. I’ve loved sharing every step of this journey with you, @robertsweetinglife and cannot wait to experience new chapters, next chapters, new pathways with you. I love you so much. At the Nigerian wedding ceremony, Aduba wore a red gown embellished with metallic thread and gems.
While Sweeting opted to wear an agbada, decorated with lions on the lapel and a Nigerian fila hat.
The Orange Is the New Black star surprised fans in 2021 with the news of her 2020 wedding. The intimate ceremony was so under wraps that the public didn’t find out until a year later.
Aduba announced earlier this year that she is expecting a child with her husband. In the announcement, she’s holding up a white baby onesie.
“What a blessing,” she wrote in an Instagram caption. “My husband Robert and I are so happy to enter this next chapter together as parents. I am beyond excited. I get to be someone’s Mommy! I know as the three of us continue to grow, our only, ONLY goal will be to love you, little one. My goodness. Look what God has done.”
