These teachers will never forget this!

In honor of National Teachers Appreciation Week, Forever President Barack Obama surprised a few teachers with virtual video calls, Upworthy reports.

The annual holiday marks an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of teachers across the country. With teachers working even harder this year, doing everything they can to continue to educate children through distance learning as a result of the global pandemic, it was even more pressing to go above and beyond to thank them for all they do. That’s exactly what Obama did, reaching out to a few of Chicago’s teachers personally, asking them their story, the challenges they’ve faced during these times and offering some encouraging words.

“There’s no limit to the devotion I’ve seen in teachers like these @ChiPubSchools educators. Their dedication shapes the best parts of who we become. I couldn’t be more thankful for their work, especially as they shift lessons online to keep students on track during this crisis,” Obama captioned a video posted to social media of the calls.

“When I go on Google Classroom and tell the kids that I talked to President Obama, they’re gonna be so happy,” one teacher exclaimed.

Thank you for continuing to show true leadership during these times President Obama. Because of you, we can.
