She has transformed her career from the stock room of a local Target to the spotlight of the fashion world.

Jeneé shared in an interview with Target that she began her career at Target in 2012, starting as a team member and climbing the ranks to store director within seven years. Her time at Target was more than just a job; it was a crucible where she honed her leadership skills and business acumen. Leading a team of over 200 members, she found her voice as a leader and businesswoman. This period was instrumental in shaping her approach to business and fashion.

“My career at Target taught me some invaluable lessons,” Jeneé reflects. “I learned how to pay attention to the details, mastered the essential art of project management, and transformed into an impactful leader. I honed my ability to strategize and execute plans, which has been such a useful tool within this creator landscape.”

Fashion was always Jeneé’s passion. From sketching designs in high school to her retail work, her love for fashion was a constant thread in her life. It was during her time at Target that she started posting her outfits on social media, gaining traction and a following. Despite her busy schedule, she found time to create and batch content on her days off, sharing her style and inspiring others.

“Posting on Instagram turned into a website/blog, which eventually turned into a YouTube channel,” she recalls. “The rest has been history.”

One of Jeneé’s fondest memories at Target was opening the first small format store on the East Coast at the University of Maryland. The process was intense but incredibly rewarding, involving collaboration with numerous teams across the company to ensure the store’s successful rollout. This experience holds a special place in her heart and adds a deeper meaning to her current partnership with Target.

Becoming the latest partner for Target’s Future Collective brand is a significant milestone for Jeneé. It’s a full-circle moment that she’s still processing, from opening and prepping Target stores each season to now being a partner for one of their brands.

“This is such a meaningful, full-circle moment that I’m honestly still processing,” she shares. “I hope to inspire someone to go after their dreams and chase that thing in the pit of their stomach telling them to keep going. It’ll all pay off in the end.”
