Since last graduation season, media mogul Oprah Winfrey has made her way around the country to attend college graduations of her daughter girls, who are alumnae of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
On Sunday, she attended another but this time for her half-sister, Patricia. In a 2011 episode of the “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Winfrey revealed she had a half-sister, who her mother gave up for adoption when she was visiting her father in Tennessee. Winfrey was 9 at the time.
As any excited older sister would do, Winfrey took to Instagram to express her joy over her sister’s academic accomplishment, writing:
“My sister Pat, who discovered she was a part of our family 6 years ago, had one big dream when I met her. To go to college and finish strong! Today, that dream came true. Congratulations lil Sis. #UWMgrad.”
