Grandparent love really does come with its own set of rules.
In a sweet video shared by @ashreneedouglas, one grandmother made sure her grandkids weren’t going anywhere without a little something in their pockets first.
As the kids gathered outside with their family, Grandma started handing out cash one by one, making sure everybody was covered before they left.
“Grandparents really be like: ‘Wait! Y’all can’t leave without some money!’” the text on the video reads.

And apparently, this is not a one-time thing.
In her caption, Douglas jokingly described the moment as the grandparents’ “weekly investigation,” complete with the usual questions: Are your parents treating you right? Do you need money for school?
All while the parents are standing right there.
It is the kind of small tradition so many families know well. Grandparents may ask a few questions, sneak the kids some cash, and send them on their way feeling just a little more spoiled than when they arrived.
For these grandkids, leaving Grandma’s house empty-handed clearly was not an option.
Sometimes love looks like a hug. Sometimes it looks like a folded bill slipped into your hand before you get in the car.
