Korry Sessoms is putting in the work, on and off the field!
The 17-year-old senior at New Manchester High School in Douglasville, Georgia, recently achieved something rare: a perfect 1600 on the SAT, FOX 5 Atlanta reports.
Sessoms said he had scored around a 1570 on a practice test near the end of the school year and wanted to see how far he could push himself. The answer? All the way to a perfect score.
But Korry is not just focused on the classroom. He is also a wide receiver for the New Manchester Jaguars. After tearing his ACL last year, he said football helped teach him accountability, consistency, and discipline, the same qualities that helped him succeed academically.

His parents, Walisa and Torry Sessoms, could not be prouder. His mother shared how meaningful it is to see her son celebrated as a young Black man, while his father said the achievement is proof of what can happen when you stay committed to the work.
Korry loves math and history and hopes to study engineering before heading to law school. While his parents would love to see him at Georgia Tech, Korry has his eyes set on Yale University.
His advice for other students is simple: do not let one score discourage you. Keep studying, keep trying, and stay locked in.
