Emari Etta-Tawo is helping the next generation learn about health in a fun new way.
The Georgia ER nurse and mom of two is the creator of Mini Med School with Nurse Dolly, a children’s health education brand and YouTube channel that teaches kids about the human body, healthy habits, and healthcare in a way they can understand.
According to CBS Atlanta, Etta-Tawo created the series after noticing there were plenty of children’s videos about colors, shapes, and the alphabet, but not many that focused on health and wellness for kids.

“I noticed there was a lot of things about alphabets, about colors, about shapes, which are all important but there wasn’t anything that promotes health and wellness for children,” Etta-Tawo told CBS Atlanta.
Through kid-friendly videos, songs, and lessons, Nurse Dolly helps children explore topics connected to their bodies, wellness, and everyday health. For families, the series makes health education feel simple, welcoming, and easier to talk about at home.
Etta-Tawo said the work has also changed how she sees her impact as a nurse, allowing her to reach people beyond the bedside and the hospital.
