There would be no America 250 without Black people.
As we approach the 4th, we’re recognizing just a small fraction of the Black history that helped shape it all.
From our enslaved ancestors who built this country, to Harriet Tubman, W.E.B. Du Bois, the Buffalo Soldiers, Martin Luther King Jr., Angela Davis, the Obamas, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and so many more, Black people have always been central to America’s story.
And as Shirley Chisholm once said, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
